ごあいさつ

バリトンサックスを使ってどんなことをしたら面白いだろう？東京中低域を結成した時に私はひとり悶々と悩んでいました。いや、普通に音楽してればいいのだけど。どんな楽器だってクラシック、ジャズ、ロック、現代音楽、民謡…なんだってできるハズ、なのにアレ？なんかお決まりの音楽しかやってなくないか？おい、どうなんだい？バリトンサックス。…東京中低域だけで悶々としていても答えは見つからない、短波ラジオ奏者さんを呼んでこよう、落語家さんと何か作ってみよう、と。今回はポップスターやテルミン奏者さんを呼んできました、何か見つかるかな、お楽しみに！

What sort of things could we do with a baritone saxophone that would be interesting? When I formed Tokyo Chutei Iki, I found myself brooding over this question all on my own. I mean, I suppose I could just play music as usual. Any instrument should be capable of playing classical, jazz, rock, contemporary music, folk songs… anything at all—so why is it that we seem to be playing nothing but the usual fare? Come on, what’s the deal, baritone saxophone? …I realised I wouldn’t find the answer by mulling it over on my own with Tokyo Chutei Iki, so I thought, ‘Let’s invite a shortwave radio performer, or try creating something with a rakugo storyteller.’ This time, I’ve invited a pop star and a theremin player – I wonder if we’ll discover something new? Stay tuned!

N/Y

2014年に新垣隆がジャズラージアンサンブルの人選を吉田隆一に依頼し、音楽的な交 流が始まる。同年8月にデュオ活動を開始。2人のオリジナル楽曲や様々なカバー曲を、 現代音楽とフリージャズの語法を用いて演奏するコンセプトを確立。 2015年2月にアルバム『N/Y』(APOLLO SOUNDS)を発表。ライブハウスやホールでの 演奏やライブツアーを行う。「横濱ジャズプロムナード」「JAZZ ART せんがわ」「鬱 フェス」などのイベントに参加。 2016年、ドラムの芳垣安洋を加えた「N/Y+Y」を結成。新宿ピットインにてフォーク シンガー・小室等や芥川賞作家・高山羽根子をゲストに迎えたライブを行う。

In 2014, Takashi Niigaki asked Ryuichi Yoshida to select people for the Jazz Large Ensemble, and a musical exchange began. In August of the same year, the duo started their duo activities, establishing the concept of performing their original compositions and various cover songs using contemporary music and free jazz diction.In February 2015, the album N/Y (APOLLO SOUNDS) was released. Performs at live houses and halls and tours live. Participated in events such as 'Yokohama Jazz Promenade', 'JAZZ ART Sengawa' and 'Utsu Fest', etc. In 2016, formed 'N/Y+Y' with Yasuhiro Yoshigaki on drums. Performs live at Shinjuku Pit Inn with folk singer Komuro Hitoshi and Akutagawa Prize-winning author Takayama Haneko as guests.

新垣隆（Piano）

1970年東京都出身。４歳よりピアノを始める。桐朋学園大学音楽学部作曲科卒業。作曲を南聡、中川俊郎、三善晃、ピアノを森安耀子の各氏に師事。2014年、ゴーストライター騒動により、桐朋学園大学の講師を依願退職。その後様々な支援により音楽活動が継続され今日に至る。2015年「ピアノ協奏曲新生」、2016年「交響曲連祷 Litany」、2021年「ジェニーハイ学園物語」、2023年「幽霊を主題とする」、2024年「交響的断章」、「『バラード』 ヴァイオリン、ヴィオラと管弦楽のための協奏曲」を発表。2025年１月「舞台 THE GHOST」の音楽監督を担当。コンサートのための作品、バレエ、映画、ゲームなど様々なジャンルの作曲も手がける。川谷絵音プロデュースのバンド「ジェニーハイ」にキーボードとして参加。2020年、大阪音楽大学客員教授に就任。2022年、有料配信プラットフォーム「シラス」にて『新垣隆の音楽室』を開設。日本現代音楽協会、日本演奏連盟会員。

Takashi Niigaaki (Piano)

Born in Tokyo in 1970. Commenced piano studies at age four. Graduated from the Composition Department of the Toho Gakuen School of Music. Studied composition under Satoshi Minami, Toshiro Nakagawa, and Akira Miyoshi, and piano under Yoko Moriyasu. In 2014, resigned voluntarily from his position as lecturer at Toho Gakuen School of Music following the ghostwriter controversy. Subsequently, with various forms of support, his musical activities have continued to the present day. Works include: Piano Concerto: Rebirth (2015), Symphony Litany (2016), Jenny High School Story (2021), On the Theme of Ghosts (2023), Symphonic Fragments (2024), and “Ballade” Concerto for Violin, Viola and Orchestra (2024). In January 2025, he served as Music Director for the stage production THE GHOST. His compositional work spans diverse genres including concert pieces, ballet, film, and games. He participates as keyboardist in the band Jenny Hi, produced by Enon Kawatani. In 2020, he was appointed Visiting Professor at Osaka College of Music. In 2022, he launched “Takashi Niigaki's Music Room” on the paid streaming platform “Shirasu”. He is a member of the Japan Society for Contemporary Music and the Japan Performing Arts Federation.

吉田隆一（Baritone Sax）

1971年東京生まれ。中学の吹奏楽部でバリトンサックスを始める。 19歳からライブ活動を開始。「渋さ知らズ」「東京中低域」等に参加。新垣隆とのコ ラボレーションは話題となった。 現在は自己のバンドblacksheep(スガダイロー/石川広行)の他、林栄一GATOS MEETING、藤井郷子オーケストラ、板橋文夫オーケストラ、芳垣安洋Limited Edition、渋谷毅オーケストラ、最低人、THE BOZEN、SXQなどで活動中。近年はデュ オに力を入れており、長年活動する石田幹雄をはじめ、江藤良人、遠藤ふみ、伊藤志 宏、西嶋徹、西山瞳、本藤美咲らと定期的に演奏している。 無伴奏ソロ演奏をライフワークとし、2023年にアルバム『SAKAIー境』(doubt music) を発表。
"SF音楽家" を名乗り、音楽活動を行ないつつSFに関する文章の執筆も手掛けている。 一般社団法人 日本SF作家クラブ第5期理事。日本SF大賞運営委員長。

Ryūichi Yoshida (Baritone Saxophone)

Born in Tokyo in 1971. Began playing the baritone saxophone in his junior high school wind ensemble. Commenced live performances at age 19. Participated in groups such as Shibusa Shirasazu and Tokyo Chūchōiki. His collaboration with Takashi Niigaki garnered significant attention. Currently active with his own band blacksheep (Suga Dairo/Hiroyuki Ishikawa), as well as in groups including Eiichi Hayashi GATOS MEETING, Satoko Fujii Orchestra, Fumio Itabashi Orchestra, Yasuhiro Yoshigaki Limited Edition, Takeshi Shibuya Orchestra, Saiteijin, THE BOZEN, and SXQ. In recent years, he has focused on duos, performing regularly with long-time collaborator Mikio Ishida, as well as Yoshito Eto, Fumi Endo, Shihiro Ito, Toru Nishijima, Hitomi Nishiyama, and Misaki Hondo. He regards unaccompanied solo performances as his life's work, releasing the album “SAKAI” (doubt music) in 2023.
He describes himself as an ‘SF musician’, engaging in musical activities while also writing about science fiction. He is a Director of the 5th term of the Japan SF Writers Club, a general incorporated association, and Chairman of the Japan SF Grand Prize Steering Committee.

レオ・デイル（オーストラリア）

アニア・レイノルズはオーストラリア出身の受賞歴あるアーティストで、五大陸15カ国でオリジナル楽曲を披露してきた。作曲家兼マルチ楽器奏者としてバリトンサックス、ピアノ、キーボード、シンセサイザー、パーカッションを演奏し、オーストラリア初の現代サーカス団サーカス・オズの元音楽監督を務めた。エレクトロニックアーティスト／バリトンサックス奏者「シンソトロニカ」名義で2枚のアルバムを、ソロピアニストとして2枚のアルバムをリリースしている。バリトンサックス奏者として、彼女はアフロビートの伝説的アーティスト、フェミ・クティとのサックスソロデュエットを披露し、ロンドンのナショナル・シアターでは逆さ吊り状態でバリトンサックスを演奏。リオデジャネイロのブラスバンドフェスティバル「ホンク！」では現地ミュージシャンを率いるバンドを指揮し、2022年には韓国・光州で開催された「バスカーズ・ワールドゲームズ」のファイナリストに選出された。シンソトロニカとして、彼女はバリトンサックスへの愛と、ダブ/レゲエ、サンバ、アフロビート、バルカンビート、ファンクなど世界中のエレクトロニカやパーティーミュージックへの同等の愛を融合させている。彼女の紛れもない独創的なサウンドは、ウォナデリック、テクノジャズ、スチームパンクスウィング、コズミックグルーヴなどと評されている。2023年以降、アニアは南フランスで夏を過ごし、ソロ演奏や現地アーティストとのコラボレーション（西アフリカ打楽器アンサンブル「ヤカッセメ」を含む）を行ってきた。2025年には7月から8月にかけて20回以上のコンサートを実施。同年、サイゴンで開催されたA.Farmアーティスト・レジデンシーに参加し、ソロサックス演奏のための新たなオーディオビジュアル作品と映像投影を初披露した。

Leo Dale （from Australia）

Ania Reynolds is an award-winning artist from Australia who has performed her original music in 15 countries across five continents. A composer and multi-instrumentalist, she performs on baritone saxophone, piano, keyboards, synthesisers and percussion and was the former Musical Director of Australia’s first contemporary circus company Circus Oz. She has released two albums as electronic artist/baritone saxophonist Synthotronica, and two as a solo pianist. As a baritone saxophonist she has performed a saxophone solo duet with Afrobeat legend Femi Kuti, played baritone sax hanging upside down at the National Theatre in London, led a band of local musicians at the Honk! brass band festival in Rio de Janeiro and been a finalist at the Buskers’ World Games in Gwangju, South Korea in 2022. As Synthotronica she combines her love of the baritone saxophone with her equal love of electronica and party music genres from around the world, featuring dub/reggae, samba, Afrobeat, Balkan Beat, funk and more. Her unmistakably original sound has been described as Wonakdelic, Techno Jazz, Steampunk Swing and Cosmic Groove. Since 2023 Ania has spent summer in the South of France performing solo and collaborating with local artists including West African percussion ensemble Yakassemé. In 2025 she performed over 20 concert dates over July and August. Also in 2025 she attended A.Farm Artist Residency in Saigon, where she premiered new audiovisual works and visual projections for her solo saxophone performances.

崔 師碩（チェイシソウ)

中国・遼寧省出身。14歳で来日。上野学園大学音楽学部を卒業後、東京藝術大学大学院修士課程を修了。
在学中、下野竜也氏の指揮による上野学園大学オーケストラとJ.イベール作曲《室内小協奏曲》を共演し、卓越した表現力で注目を集める。その後も数多くの演奏会に出演し、第85回読売新人演奏会や、上皇后陛下・今上天皇陛下をはじめ皇族方ご臨席のもとで行われた宮内庁主催・皇居桃華楽堂御前演奏会にも出演するなど、華やかな経歴を持つ。大学院在学中にはティーチング・アシスタントを担当して、現在はフリーランス奏者として、ソロ、オーケストラ、吹奏楽など多方面で活躍中。クラシックを軸にしながらも、時にジャンルを超えた音楽表現を追求している。これまでに、彦坂眞一郎、松原孝政、長澤範和、須川展也の各氏に師事。室内楽を原田禎夫氏に師事。MALTAプロデュースによるサクソフォンクインテット「Five by Five」の現役メンバーとしても活動し、2016年10月にCD《Five by Five》をリリース。Quartet Bamboo メンバー。
昭和音楽大学および同大学院非常勤講師として、教育・演奏の両面からサクソフォンの魅力を発信している。

Quartet Bamboo（カルテット バンブー）

崔師碩の呼びかけにより、2023年に東京芸術大学の同窓生により結成。グループ名のBamboo(竹)はどこの国でも縁起が良いとされる植物。竹のように地に足をつけ、音楽に真っ直ぐ向き合い、聴いてくださる方へ力や癒しを与える4人でありたいと願いを込めて名付けた。メンバーそれぞれが日本、海外での演奏活動を行い、そこで培われた経験を元に、サクソフォン四重奏の可能性を追求しています。

Cui Shishuo

Born in Liaoning Province, China. Arrived in Japan at age 14. Graduated from the Faculty of Music at Ueno Gakuen University, subsequently completing a Master's degree at Tokyo University of the Arts. During his studies, he garnered attention for his exceptional expressiveness while performing Jean Ibert's Petite Concerto de Chambre with the Ueno Gakuen University Orchestra under the baton of Tatsuya Shimono. Since then, he has appeared in numerous concerts, including the 85th Yomiuri New Artists Concert and the Imperial Household Agency's Imperial Concert at the Momoka Hall in the Imperial Palace, attended by Her Majesty the Empress Emerita, His Majesty the Emperor, and other members of the Imperial Family, showcasing a distinguished career. During his graduate studies, he served as a teaching assistant. He is currently active as a freelance musician, performing in diverse settings including solo, orchestral, and wind ensemble performances. While rooted in classical music, he occasionally pursues musical expression that transcends genres. He has studied under Shinichiro Hikosaka, Takamasa Matsubara, Norikazu Nagasawa, and Nobuya Sugawa. He studied chamber music under Sadao Harada. He is also an active member of the saxophone quintet ‘Five by Five’, produced by MALTA, releasing the CD 《Five by Five》 in October 2016. Member of Quartet Bamboo. As a part-time lecturer at Showa University of Music and its graduate school, he communicates the appeal of the saxophone through both teaching and performance.

Quartet Bamboo

Formed in 2023 by alumni of Tokyo University of the Arts, at the initiative of Choi Si-seok. The group name “Bamboo” refers to a plant considered auspicious in every country. It embodies the members' aspiration to remain grounded like bamboo, approach music with integrity, and be a source of strength and healing for their listeners. Each member pursues performance activities in Japan and overseas, drawing upon these experiences to explore the possibilities of saxophone quartet music.

高野寛（タカノ・ヒロシ）

1964年生まれ。大学生の頃から当時は珍しかった宅録による創作を開始。1988年、高橋幸宏プロデュースによるアルバム「hullo hulloa」でソロデビュー。ほとんどの楽曲の作詞・作曲・編曲・ギター・プログラミングを自ら手掛けるスタイルで、現在までにベスト盤を含む23枚のソロアルバムを発表。2024年11月にデビュー35周年を迎え、記念アルバム「Modern Vintage Future」をリリース。

MVF （モダーン・ヴィンテイジ・フューチャー）

「Modern Vintage Future」を再現するために始動したエレクトロユニット・MVF。ラップトップと映像を駆使し、solo,duo,trio の形態がある。今回はドラマー・ITOKENとのデュオ。

Hiroshi TakaNO

Born in 1964. He began creating music via home recording—a rarity at the time—whilst still a university student. In 1988, he made his solo debut with the album *hullo hulloa*, produced by Yukihiro Takahashi. Adopting a style in which he handles the lyrics, composition, arrangement, guitar and programming for most of his tracks himself, he has released 23 solo albums to date, including best-of compilations. In November 2024, he celebrated the 35th anniversary of his debut with the release of the commemorative album *Modern Vintage Future*.

MVF （Modern Vintage Future）

MVF is an electronic music unit formed with the aim of recreating ‘Modern Vintage Future’. Making full use of laptops and visuals, the group performs in solo, duo and trio formats. This time, they are performing as a duo with drummer ITOKEN.

による、アコースティックかつエレクトリックなユニット。2013年結成、それ以降1年に一度だけ、冬の終わりにライヴを開催するというマイペースな活動形態を続けている。現代音楽やテクノのテイストを匂わせるオリジナリティー溢れる楽曲を幻想的な映像空間と共に紡ぎ出す。今回は東京国際バリトンサックスフェスティバル特別編成で、東京中低域から○○○○氏を迎えてゴージャスバージョンのステージを展開予定。

The Last Day of Winter

An acoustic and electric unit featuring Tomohiko Gondou (euphonium etc.) x Yoko Ueno (accordion etc.) x Kazumasa Asami (VJ).

Formed in 2013, they have maintained a deliberate pace of activity, performing live only once a year at the end of winter. They weave original compositions, imbued with contemporary classical and techno influences, alongside fantastical visual landscapes. This time, as a special formation for the Tokyo International Baritone Saxophone Festival, they welcome Mr ○○○○ from Tokyo Chutei Iki for a lavish stage performance.

街角マチコ (マチカドマチコ)

テルミン奏者。2005年より自身のテルミン教室「テルミン大学」を開校、これまで教室やワークショップで教えた生徒は1000人以上に上る。NHKのサカナクション山口一郎氏の音楽実験番組への出演や、落合陽一氏の日本フィルプロジェクトVOL.6 「遍在する音楽会」に参加。小山田壮平、吉澤嘉代子などアーティストの音源への参加も多数。
国際的怪電波ユニット「MACHIKADO」のメンバーとしても活動中。

Machiko Machikado

Theremin player. She founded her own theremin school, ‘Theremin University’, in 2005, and has taught over 1,000 students through her classes and workshops to date.She has appeared on NHK’s music experiment programme hosted by Ichiro Yamaguchi of Sakanaction, and participated in Yoichi Ochiai’s Japan Philharmonic Project Vol. 6, ‘The Ubiquitous Concert’.She has also contributed to numerous recordings by artists such as Sohei Oyamada and Kayoko Yoshizawa.
She is also active as a member of the international experimental electronic music unit ‘MACHIKADO’.

東京中低域のメンバーによるバリトンサックス・ワークショップに参加した受講生達による年齢性別職業不問の純バリトンサックス・アンサンブル“ザ・ワークショッパーズ”。2月15日(日)の「ワークショップ・スペシャル・コンサート」には東京中低域も加わって本格的巨大アンサンブルとしてオンステージ!!

"The Workshoppers" is a pure baritone saxophone ensemble of students of all ages and professions who have participated in baritone saxophone workshops conducted by members of Tokyo Chutei Iki. This time, Tokyo Chutei Iki joined the ensemble as a full-fledged gigantic ensemble.

2004年結成の「ストリート・ジャズ・サックス・アンサンブル」。日本をはじめ、アメリカ・フランス・中国・韓国など、世界各地のジャズフェスティバルに出演。2014年、ポニーキャニオンよりメジャーデビュー。デビュー作『HAPPY SAX HIT EXPRESS』が、第56回日本レコード大賞「企画賞」を受賞。2015年に『ハッピー・サックス・ヒット・エクスプレス 2015』、2018年12月にはスポーツをテーマにしたアルバム『VIVA！SPORTS！！』をリリース。

2000年初頭、水谷紹を中心に結成された、ほかの楽器を一切使用しない純バリトンサックス・バンドである。2006年のEFGロンドン・ジャズ・フェス(英)への出演を皮切りに、ノースシー・ジャズ・フェス(蘭)、モントリオール国際ジャズ・フェス(加)などに次々と招聘され、今や世界のビッグ・ジャズ・フェスには欠かせない人気者になったような。また2014年にはサックスの発明者アドルフ・サックス生誕200年を祝し、ベルギー国内ツアーも敢行。2018年にはスペインのバリトンサックス・ラヴァーズ開拓ツアーを実施。行くと決めたら地の果てまでも。そんな東京中低域もとうとうバリトン一筋27年（にならん）。ああ、旅に出たい、早く世界中の不況や異常気象や紛争や戦争が全て終結して欲しい。

Tokyo Chutei Iki

This pure baritone saxophone band was formed in early 2000 around Akira Mizutani. They use no other instruments whatsoever. Starting with an appearance at the EFG London Jazz Festival (UK) in 2006, the band has been invited to perform at the North Sea Jazz Festival (Netherlands) and the Montreal International Jazz Festival (Canada), and has become an indispensable favourite at big jazz festivals around the world. In 2014, they also toured Belgium to celebrate the bicentenary of the birth of saxophone inventor Adolphe Saxe. In 2018, they toured Spain pioneering the Baritone Saxophone Lovers. When they decide to go, they go to the ends of the earth. At the time of this festival, the band will be 27 years old. Oh, they cry out that they want to go on a performance tour, and they hope that the wars and conflicts in various parts of the world will soon come to an end.

・2026年12月14日〜2027年1月14日 

【実施日】
・第1ワークショップ＝2027年2月7日（日）12時〜18時のうちの3時間程度（若干の延長や短縮の可能性があります）の開講の予定です。
会場：東京都内にある施設と予定、受講生に直接お知らせいたします。

・第2ワークショップ＝2027年2月14日（日）10時45分〜11時30分（第2ワークショップ＝サウンドチェック体験）／12時00分〜(コンサート出演)
会場：吉祥寺スターパインズカフェ（東京都武蔵野市吉祥寺本町１-20-16）
※両日ともに集合時間及び開始時間は2026年1月21日までに申し込み受付結果とともに通知いたします。

TCI and Dolby Atmos for you

2021年10月13日、東京中低域はティアラこうとう小ホールの客席とステージ全てのエリアを可能な限り広く使って、ドルビー・アトモス・サラウンド・テクノロジーを駆使したレコーディングを行いました。それはiphoneなどのモバイル端末で楽しむことも可能です。現在はApple Music、TIDAL、Amazon Music でドルビー・アトモス・サラウンド音源が提供されています。

This was the first Dolby Atmos surround recording experience for the ten-piece baritone saxophone ensemble, so it was a case of recording and monitoring, finding and adding new ideas.
